Fire Door Repairs & Remedial Works

Fire door repairs and remedial works across Surrey, Sussex and South London. From excessive gaps and faulty closers to hinges, seals and other defects identified during a fire door inspection.

Common Fire Door Repairs

  • Excessive gaps around the sides or head of the door

  • Excessive gaps beneath the door

  • Doors that have dropped, become misaligned or bind against the frame

  • Damaged, missing or unsuitable intumescent and smoke seals

  • Fire doors that fail to self-close correctly

  • Door closer replacement and adjustment

  • Fire-rated hinge replacement, adjustment and packing

  • Latch and lock defects

  • Threshold and drop seal issues

  • Other defects identified during a fire door inspection

Repair First — Replacement Where Necessary

A failed fire door inspection does not necessarily mean the complete door needs replacing.

Many defects can be addressed through appropriate adjustment, repair or replacement of individual components. We assess the existing door and available evidence before recommending remedial work.

Where a suitable repair is achievable, we favour that approach. Where repair is not appropriate, we will explain why.

How It Works

  1. Send us your inspection report and property address

  2. We review the identified defects and provide an estimate where possible

  3. We inspect the door on arrival to confirm the required works

  4. Where the scope matches, we aim to complete the remedial works during the same visit

  5. If the scope or cost changes, we discuss it with you before proceeding

  6. Following completion, we provide a post-works inspection report recording the resulting condition
